Occupation: Owner of Grandma’s Restaurant
My name is Teeny and I live in Pine Grove, New York. As the proprietor of the most popular local eatery —Grandma’s — I’m one of the most influential people in town. I know, I’m pretty important. Just kidding. . . mostly. My average day starts off in the restaurant and ends in the restaurant. That is, unless there happens to be a murder. Murder days seem to be popping up more and more, and although they’re not my favorite days they are exciting. If nobody turns up dead, I spend most of the day in the kitchen, trying out new recipes. Once in a while, I hit on something delicious, but that’s usually after a LOT of trial and even more error. By the time the restaurant opens, I have a whole mountain range of food. I’m talking mountains a person could ski off of. While I’m backstage cooking up my storm, my mom (the eponymous Grandma) sits behind the cash register. I think she’s ringing people up, but I’m never sure.
Once Grandma’s opens, I do my rounds and greet the regulars. I know when each person comes in and what he or she wants. Lots of people come from far away, for one of my famous dishes like Hashbrown Lasagna. Don’t know who they are, but they’re not my problem. I leave the strangers and the out-of-towners to the waiters. I bet you can imagine the amount of gossip I hear on a daily basis. Most of it is small-town stuff. Nothing too serious. This person cheated on this person, this person now hates this person. Still waiting for a one-eyed man to come in, or someone from the Ukraine — like in one of my favorite shows. Nothing so far.
Once a day is done, or I’m just bored in the kitchen, you can find me watching one of the aforementioned shows. North Port Diaries is an old standby, but recently, I’ve been getting into Blood & Bones. That show is amazing. I have to admit, I may be watching to see a certain actor on screen. He could melt cheese with that stare.
Sometimes all my TV knowledge comes in handy, especially when there’s another murder in Pine Grove. Together with my best friend and her niece, I help crack all the cases in town. I’m a good cook and an even better sleuth!
