Tinkie Bellcase Richmond is one of the sleuths in the “Sarah Booth Delaney” mysteries. One of the best ways to learn about a person is by asking questions. So, let’s get to know Tinkie.

What is your full name?
Tinkie Bellcase Richmond–And it’s very important to use my maiden name, Bellcase, because it’s like a pedigree.

How old are you?
34, but after working in a detective agency with Sarah Booth, I feel loads older

What is your profession?
Private investigator and Queen Bee of Delta Society

Do you have a significant other?
My husband

What is their name and profession?
Oscar Richmond, president of The Zinnia National Bank

Do you have any children?
No–but almost! I’m pregnant and it’s the one thing I’ve always wanted and thought I’d never get

Do you have any siblings?
No

Are your parents nearby?
They have a home in Zinnia, but they travel all the time. Right now they’re in Paris.

Who is your best friend?
Sarah Booth Delaney, (and you can add Cece Dee Falcon, Millie Roberts if you want)

Do you have any pets?
Chablis the dog, and I just acquired Gumbo the cat

What town do you live in?
Zinnia, MS

Would you say you live in a small town or a big city?
Small town, but it’s a small town with heart

Type of dwelling and do you own or rent?
My home is called Hilltop. It’s an antebellum home on acreage. It’s been in the family for generations, but Oscar and I have managed a total renovation. Old houses need that kind of love.

Favorite meal and dessert?
Fried chicken, fried okra, baked sweet potato, Cole slaw. Millie’s coconut cream pie.

Do you have any hobbies?

What is your favorite vacation spot?
New Orleans, hands down. I love that city

What music do you listen to?
The blues–there is nothing better than the blues

Do you have a favorite book?
I love to read the plays of Tennessee Williams and the mysteries set in Mississippi written by Miranda James.

What is your idea of a really fun time?
A meal with good friends with lots of laughing

If you were to write a memoir, what would you call it?
** The Adventures of Delaney Detective Agency **

Amateur or professional sleuth and whom do you work with?
Sarah Booth Delaney and I have an agency, but we’re still amateurs. We’re learning on the job.

In a few sentences, what is a typical day in your life like?
Before Sarah Booth came home from New York, I had typical days. But ever since she blew back into town, my life has been haywire. There’s no telling what will happen around my friends. One minute I’m planning a luncheon for a visiting celebrity at The Club and the next I’m held captive in an abandoned house. Sarah Booth and I get into a lot of trouble–but we’ve put a lot of bad people behind bars, too.

The Devil’s Bones is the 21st book in the “Sarah Booth Delaney” traditional mystery series, coming July 21, 2020.

The latest novel in the series that Kirkus Reviews characterizes as “Stephanie Plum meets the Ya-Ya Sisterhood” featuring sassy Southern private investigator Sarah Booth Delaney.

As Sarah Booth sees it, Easter weekend is a time to celebrate life in all its many forms. So when the newly-pregnant Tinkie invites her and Cece on a girls’ trip to Lucedale, Missisippi to celebrate that spring has official sprung, Sarah Booth can’t resist. Plans include facials, food, and a trip to the incredible Garden of Bones―a miniature Holy Land with recreations of all parts of the Middle East―for their Sunrise Easter Services led by biblical scholar, gardener, and creator of the Gardens Daniel Reynolds.

Unfortunately for Sarah Booth and the gang, someone doesn’t seem appreciate this season of new life. Easter morning has just dawned when the trio find themselves at the Mount of Olives―with a dead body at their feet.

Reynolds identifies the dead man as local lawyer Perry Slay, who was well known for his sly and underhanded dealings. Perry had rubbed plenty of people the wrong way, and now it looks like someone has rubbed him out…

Because being a PI apparently means never being on vacation, Sarah Booth and her friends must now find a way to resurrect the truth from a list of suspects as long as the River Jordan, reveal the devil in disguise, and―if they’re lucky―find a moment to enjoy a few chocolate bunnies before more bodies pile up like pillars of salt.
