Why do you write the genre that you write?
I like to say I was born knowing how to read, such is my love of reading. As soon as I was old enough, I gravitated to mysteries, from Nancy Drew to The Hardy Boys and beyond, and have never looked back. With mysteries, it’s always fun to figure out who the ‘bad guys’ are so it felt right for me to write in this genre and create whodunits my readers can try to solve.

Tell us how you got into writing?
It started when I was a little girl and wrote plays for my Girl Scout Troop and it blossomed from there.

What jobs have you held before, during and/or after you’ve became a writer?
Most of my jobs have been writing jobs. I was a fashion major in college and my first job was writing advertising copy for fashion accounts. Then I moved into regular advertising and worked on lots of major brands. Now, I concentrate on writing mysteries.

Where do you write?
I have a small office/den in my apartment and that’s where I write.

What is your favorite deadline snack?
Dark chocolate peanut butter cups.

What is next for you?
I’m working on the fourth book in the Murder On The Rocks Mystery series, With a Twist. This time, my protagonist, Jude Dillane, owner of The Corner Lounge on Manhattan’s Lower East Side is on a cruise. Of course, the first time she leaves her hood, she gets involved in murder and thievery.

What are you reading now?
Just finished the excellent Red Widow by Alma Katsu and just started The Turncoat’s Widow, a historical mystery, by Mally Becker. I think I have a widow theme going on here.
