Why do you write the genre that you write?
I write cozy mysteries, romance, paranormal mysteries, and thrillers. These also happen to be the genres I like to read so I suppose I just decided to write something I’d like to read.

What’s the quirkiest quirk one of your characters has?
Hum this is a tough one. A lot of my characters have quirks but it’s hard to know which is the quirkiest. In the Zoe Donovan series Zak’s honorary grandmother Nona is a Harley riding, opinionated, outspoken, senior who advocates for animals and enjoys rock and roll and naked yoga.

Tell us how you got into writing?
I was home bored scrolling through Facebook when I had the idea to write a story about a woman who shared her Facebook page with her dog. I just started typing the words that filtered through my mind and after a week I had a book. I bought a book on Amazon about how to publish on Amazon and as they say the rest is history.

What jobs have you held before, during and/or after you became a writer?
I was a middle school teacher, a counselor, and the co-owner of a transportation company with my husband.

Where do you write?
Anywhere but mostly at my desk in my office.

What is your favorite deadline snack?
Potato chips.

What is next for you?
I publish one to two books a month so I always have something about to publish, something in editing, and something in the process of being written.

What are you reading now?
I rarely read anymore since by the time I finish writing for the day my eyes are toast. I do listen to Audible from time to time. The last thing I listened to was Legacy by Nora Roberts – I LOVED the story. I have a romance by Brenda Novak I’m going to try to listen to next.

You are stranded on a deserted island. What are your three must-haves?
Well I’m a fairly practical person so I guess food, water, and shelter.
If those were handled however I’d choose husband, dog, and a way
to write – I guess a notebook or manual typewriter since there
wouldn’t be electricity or internet. A magical computer that
didn’t need electricity would be awesome. My handwriting is
the worst. If I wrote something out longhand no one,
including me, would ever be able to read it.
