Why do you write the genre that you write?
I have always loved reading mysteries, from way back to The Boxcar Children, The Happy Hollisters, and Trixie Belden, which led me to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie’s English cozy mysteries. What I love, which doesn’t always happen in real life, is seeing justice served in the end. That is the key for me and why I write primarily in the mystery genre.

Tell us how you got into writing?
I began writing on a typewriter while my daughter was a baby, upgraded to a computer, then a laptop, all while trying to learn the craft and finish a novel. I took many years off, like after my mom died, while working and volunteering when my daughter was in school. Once she went away to college, I finally had time for a career. A 20-year journey. Hard work does pay off in the long run.

What’s next for you?
I’m not sure yet, since I’m waiting to hear whether my Shamelessly Adorable Teddy Bear cozies will be renewed. But I’m starting to research a historical — standalone or series, uncertain of that yet. I absolutely love research.

What are you reading now?
Just finished several holiday quick reads, and will soon be diving into my favorite authors – Spencer Quinn, Will Thomas, and Louise Penny. I save those up for after deadline, when I have time to relax.

Where can we find you?
On Facebook and Instagram, primarily! I have gotten away from Twitter but also love Pinterest.
