Why do you write the genre that you write?
I have always loved mysteries and wrote my own starting when I was in elementary school. It was natural for me to want to write a mystery as an adult.
Tell us how you got into writing?
My husband was in the Air Force which made having a career next to impossible with all of the moves. When we were living in Dayton, Ohio I saw a small ad for a short story contest in the local newspaper. I decided to try writing one. The only problem was I kept going and realized I was writing a novel. It’s unpublished but I learned a lot by writing it.
What’s next for you?
I’m currently writing Three Shots to the Wind the third Chloe Jackson Sea Glass Saloon mystery.
What are you reading now?
I just finished reading An Unkindness of Ravens by Ruth Rendell. It’s the thirteenth book in her Inspector Wexford series and the first one I’ve read.

My bio:
Sherry Harris is the Agatha Award nominated author of the Sarah Winston Garage Sale mystery series and the Chloe Jackson, Sea Glass Saloon mystery series set in the panhandle of Florida. She is the past president of Sisters in Crime and a member of Mystery Writers of America. Sherry loves books, beaches, bars, and Westies — not necessarily in that order. In her spare time Sherry loves reading and is a patent holding inventor. Sherry, her husband, and guard dog Lily are living in northern Virginia until they figure out where they want to move to next.
What a fun post! I love all Sherry’s books.
Thank you! Back at you!
Hi Sherry and Dru! I do remember that we have the AF and Dayton in common. However, you can have the beach! I’ll take the mountains. If we ever get to go anywhere again. Can you reveal what your patent is for? I’d love to know! Write on and stay safe, both of you!
I forgot about the Dayton/AF connection Kaye! The patent is for an accessory that changes the look of your glasses without buying a new pair. Right now it works mostly on Wayfarer style glasses. We are hoping to have our Etsy store open in the next couple of weeks.
Hi Dru and Sherry,
Sherry, I’m a big fan and have enjoyed reading your books. Congratulations on Absence of Alice.
Great visit! Sherry, that’s so cool you are continuing to sell your invention.
