Sometimes the best way to know a person is by asking questions, so let’s meet Angie.

What is your name?
Angie Turner.

How old are you?
28

What is your profession?
Chef and co-owner of The County Seat.

Do you have a significant other?
No, but I have a boyfriend.

What is his name?
Ian McNeal.

What is his profession?
Community activist and manager of the farmers market.

Any children?
No! I have enough trouble keeping my zoo fed and taken care of.

Do you have any sibling(s)?

Cats, dogs or other pets?
Dom – a St. Bernard, Precious-a goat, and Mabel – a black and white hen.

What town do you live in?
Outside of city limits – west of River Vista, Idaho.

House or building complex?
Farm house.

Do you rent or own?
Own. Nona left the house to me.

What is your favorite spot in your house?
My kitchen. I remodeled before I moved in, updating all the appliances and cabinets.

Who is your best friend?
Felicia Williams, she’s also my partner in The County Seat.

Amateur sleuth or professional?
Amateur.

Whom do you work with when sleuthing?
Since Sheriff Brown doesn’t like me investigating, I tend to go solo so I won’t get anyone else in trouble.

Favorite meal?
The last one I cooked? Honestly, I LOVE food.

Favorite dessert?
Brownie sundae surprise. Or good vanilla ice cream, especially on a hot summer night.

Favorite hobby?
Who has time for a hobby? I cook at the restaurant and when I’m off, I’m developing recipes for the restaurant.

Favorite vacation spot?
Pismo Beach California. It’s not crazy busy like the beaches closer to San Francisco and the water is a little warmer.

Favorite color?
Sky blue.

Favorite author?
When I have time to read, I like mysteries. Louise Penny is awesome. I so want to visit Canada one day.

Favorite sports team?
I hate sports. Even as a kid, I didn’t get the draw.

Movies or Broadway?
I like live theatre, but now that we’re away from San Francisco, it’s hard to get to even a traveling Broadway show. So if Ian drags me out of the kitchen, we go to movies.

Are you a morning or a night person?
Early bird. But I have to work a lot of late nights.

In a few sentences, what is a typical day in your life like?
The County Seat is open Thursday through Saturday nights. So on days that the restaurant is open, I tend to be there from noon until midnight. There’s always something to do including payroll, accounting, or marketing. I’ve turned over prep management to Estebe, mostly because I want to make sure he has full time hours. The other days, I hang out with the zoo or work in the kitchen playing with new recipes. I’m also writing a cookbook called Nona’s Kitchen. It’s some of my grandmother’s favorite recipes updated to today’s palates. Oh, and sometimes I get to see my boyfriend. He’s busy with all the farmers market things. So we’re a good fit.

To Angie, nothing tastes more like summer than her Nona’s fried green tomatoes. Eager to add the recipe to the menu at the County Seat, she’s found the perfect produce supplier—her sous chef Estebe’s cousin, Javier. Just one problem: ladies’ man Javier’s current hot tomato Heather has turned up dead, and he’s the prime suspect. Somehow, between managing her restaurant and navigating a romantic triangle between Estebe and Ian, the owner/manager of the farmer’s market, Angie needs to produce evidence to clear Javier—before this green tomato farmer gets fried . . .
