Status: ghost and fashionista extraordinaire
Charlotte Meadows here. Until my life was cut short, I was the belle of the ball and the life of the party. I put the sass in sassy. That all changed when some good-for-nothing snake in the grass ended my life. Let me just tell you, it’s not easy being a ghost. In fact, it’s much more difficult than being alive. In a matter of minutes, I had to learn how to navigate between this world and the next. Of course I can’t divulge the details on how the traveling between dimensions thing works. It’s a secret that I’ve been sworn to keep to myself. I’ll take it to my grave, er, never mind. Needless to say, I’d rather give up my last strand of pearls and favorite Louis Vuitton handbag than disclose that information. But I digress. . .
My day goes like this: I still need sleep, just not a bed, so I nap, then decide what to wear for the day. After that, I hang out with my new friends and have fun. That’s pretty much my whole day. I guess now that I think about it, the ghost life isn’t so much different than the living one. Plus, it has its advantages. I can listen in to conversations and no one knows I’m even there. That’s definitely a sweet hereafter bonus. No one can see me except for Cookie Chanel. She can see and talk to me as if I was still part of the living world. Cookie was the first and only person who has been able to communicate with me. Sometimes I think people get the occasional glimpse of me though. That’s probably what led to all those paranormal shows on TV. . . regular people getting a glimpse into the afterlife.
Speaking of perks, now that I’m a ghost, I can wear any outfit I want. All I have to do is think of it, and the next thing I know, it’s on my body. If you knew me when I was alive you would realize how much I appreciate this nifty feature.
Then there’s the cat that’s been hanging around Cookie’s vintage clothing shop. Wind Song is definitely a special feline. She is able to communicate with the living and the dead in a special way. I hope we discover just where this mysterious kitty came from.
Anyway, I just thought I’d share a little about what it’s like to be a ghost. Thank goodness I met Cookie. Bless her heart, she saved the day. I insisted that she help me find my murderer. It was something I couldn’t do on my own. I might be able to walk through walls, but that just wasn’t enough when it comes to solving a murder.
