Some Like It WitchyThere’s a house for sale in the Enchanted Village. . .a couple of doors down from my Aunt Ve’s place, in fact. The Tavistock House, a big old Craftsman bungalow.

There are rumors going around that the place is cursed. The roof leaks. Paint is peeling. Windows are painted shut. Grime covers the walls.

To call it a fixer-upper is putting it mildly.

I love it.

Cursed or not, the old place speaks to me, whispering deep down to the buried place deep inside of me where the dream of owning my own house—my own home—lives.

But. . .the house is way out of my price range.

Way. Out.

Then there’s my boyfriend Nick to consider. We’re close to taking the next step in our relationship, and he and his daughter Mimi already own a lovely big farmhouse where I could move in without second thought.

Plus. . .there’s the issue of the dead body in the master closet of the Tavistock House (talk about cursed!). Nothing puts a damper on a real estate transaction like a murder.

All things considered, I guess it wouldn’t hurt too much to tuck my dream away for a little while longer.

Some things just aren’t meant to be.

Or are they. . .?
