Welcome back to South Cove. We’re a small tourist town located on the central California coast. Days here are a lot like our weather, mild and easy going. Summer’s one of my favorite times of the year here.
I’m Jill Gardner, owner of CBM, Coffee, Books and More. My Aunt Jackie thinks the name of the shop needs an upgrade. I kind of like it. You know what you’re getting into when you walk into my shop. A lot of the stores are named that way, like Antiques by Thomas, my closest neighbor. Just don’t get me started on The Castle. If Craig Morgan had his way, we’d all be calling him Your Majesty or maybe Your Highness. I’ve got a few choice names for the guy, but none I can say in polite company.
Today I’m running the local Business-to-Business meeting. When I took the job five years ago, I thought someone else would step in sooner or later. I’m afraid it’s going to be later. No one wants to be Mayor Baylor’s personal slave. Two hours and the meeting will be over for another month and I can get back to the historical romance I’ve been reading.
Or at least that’s the plan. I should visit the business owners who didn’t attend our monthly meeting. I could take them cookies from the shop or a bag of coffee to try to woo them into attending. Unfortunately that would mean I’d have to make a visit to The Castle. No, I’ll put off my promotional duties until another day.
Someone just needs to shoot the guy and put us all out of his misery. I know I shouldn’t say things like that, but the man gets under my skin.
No wonder Greg nicknamed me Suspect #1 when Craig wound up dead.

Mission to Murder
In the California coastal town of South Cove, history is one of its many tourist attractions—until it becomes deadly…Jill Gardner, proprietor of Coffee, Books, and More, has discovered that the old stone wall on her property might be a centuries-old mission worthy of being declared a landmark. But Craig Morgan, the obnoxious owner of South Cove’s most popular tourist spot, The Castle, makes it his business to contest her claim. When Morgan is found murdered at The Castle shortly after a heated argument with Jill, even her detective boyfriend has to ask her for an alibi. Jill decides she must find the real murderer to clear her name. But when the killer comes for her, she’ll need to jump from historic preservation to self-preservation…

Coffee, Books and More – I’m not sure what more you would need after coffee and books! Sounds like a good series to add to my TBR. I always enjoy a feisty character, even if sometimes their words can get them in trouble. Thanks for the chance to win.

A California coastal town, historic buildings and a dead body or two makes for interesting sounding read. Count me in!
I love mysteries because of the body count. 🙂
South Cove sounds like a nice little place. Too bad about the murder, isn’t it. Thanks for the chance to win a copy of Mission to Murder.

Cozy nook – I could tell you, but what fun would that be? LOL
Great idea for a mystery book series. Used to love traveling and seeing historical places but I can only do that virtually now because of medical issues. Debates about historical significant can be interesting but they can also be a killer. Neat to take that thought one step further into an actual murder mystery. Think I’ll need to read this series for sure. Thanks for the interview and chance to get started by winning a book!!
Ronna, I’m just starting to prioritize my travel, even if I have to go alone. Glad you’re finding a way to get your fix. 🙂
How entertaining this series sounds. I look forward to getting it and reading soon.
Cynthia

I love the name of the shop – the combination of coffee and books warms my heart. And – I have met people who could certainly inspire a murder – their own.
Thanks Annette! I know what you mean about those types of people. 🙂
This is such a great series!
Lisa, you’re the best. Thanks for your support.
Looks like a great book, would love to win 🙂
