“Teddy bear, teddy bear, turn around . . .” Yep, that’s what I’m feeling like lately, turning around and around, and running like a crazy chicken.

My sister, Sasha, and the manager of our family business, the Silver Bear Shop & Factory, is in the same boat. Itā€™s tough keeping holiday spirits up with so many events. Novemberā€™s Black Friday sale was crazy, when people swarmed into Silver Hollow for bargains. December will be nuts. Besides the Silver Hollow Annual Tree Lighting and Festival of Lights Parade, Sasha has to host the Holiday Open House and the big annual staff party. Oh, and a wedding ā€“ Uncle Ross and Aunt Eve are getting remarried.

Me, Iā€™m swamped with my new graphics arts business. I earned a fine arts degree long ago and finally had the opportunity to open Silver Moon. My new venture is far more creative than my former job working in the Silver Bear Shopā€™s office. Thank goodness Aunt Eve took over keeping records of customer invoices, supply orders, cash flow, income and business taxes, etc. etc. Plus fielding phone calls. Iā€™m not off the hook, though, since I have to squeeze in the family businessā€™s social media posts and other promotion, on top of growing my client list. But Iā€™m grateful that I already need to hire help. Thatā€™s a good sign of success, for now.

At home, my cat is busy dealing with Sashaā€™s dog, a poodle mix groomed like a ā€œteddy bearā€. I have to admit Rosie does look adorable, but I prefer Onyx, with her sleek black fur and loud purring in my ear every morning.

Iā€™m up and at ā€™em by six, while Sasha hits the snooze button forever. Sheā€™d get more done if she would just wake up and get moving. Weā€™re as different as two sisters can be, but close. Sasha knows she can count on me to keep her sanity, especially given what happened at the village parade.

I mean, itā€™s Christmas ā€“ who in their right mind would kill Santa Bear? The silly polar bear costume only fits the mayor, and Cal Bloom was re-elected by a landslide. Did he get too close to the float generators, which brought on a heart attack? But the odd thing is, Mom and Sasha found him far from the source of any electricity. Was it an accident, or murder? Hmm.

All I know is that Sashaā€™s smack dab in the middle of another investigation. And she hasnā€™t even started her holiday shopping. Bummer.

This holiday season, teddy bear shop manager Sasha Silverman must solve the slaying of Santa Bear . . .

Sasha and her sister Maddie are thrilled that the Silver Bear Shop and Factory has won the Teddy Bear Keepsake Contest, which means they get to produce a holiday specialty toy, a wizard bear named ā€œBeary Potter.ā€ Promising to be just as magical is Silver Hollowā€™s annual tree-lighting ceremony and village parade. Only one hitch: the paradeā€™s mascot, Santa Bearā€”played by Mayor Cal Bloomā€”is missing.

After a frantic search among the floats, Bloom is found dead. When the outfit is removed, itā€™s clear the mayorā€™s been electrocuted. Who zapped hizzoner and then stuffed him into his Santa Bear suit? While the police investigate the grisly crime, Sasha attempts to track down the murderer herself, with some help from the Guilty Pleasures Gossip Club. Can they wrap up this case in time for Christmasā€”or will Sasha meet her own shocking end?
