This is a good start to a new series that encompasses a bit of history, a fantasy, a mystery, and a treasure hunt to explore.
I like how the author set the stage with visually descriptive narrative, engaging dialogue, and several story subplots to keep me intrigued from the start. The mystery was executed nicely with characters here and there having pivotal roles and secrets left to uncover that kept me in the game as I had to know who was doing what to whom and how this would end. Overall, a good read.
