This book is screwball comedy mystery at its best where one is both engaged in the creative antics that befalls our heroine and the gumption to make it all look good.
This was a fun book that is well-written with a wickedly tantalizing plot that had me at times laughing out loud and immersed in the visually descriptive narrative of Bali as seen through the eyes of Cyd Redondo. The mystery was nicely executed, which kept me riveted to what was happening on the page as I had to know how things were going to turn out in this fast-paced and action-packed drama. With her mother on a girl’s trip and with a few minor hiccups, Cyd heads to Bali and gets involved in a bevy of situations from snakes to birds to murder and it’s how she steps up to the plate that makes this book one of the best in the series.

This sounds like the fantastic fun I expect from Wendall Thomas’s books — and I love the fact that she always highlights some thought-provoking issues regarding conservation of endangered species and animal rights. But it’s the witty, wacky, big-hearted Cyd Redondo who I look forward to following again and again through her madcap adventures. Can’t wait to read this new one!
