Dru’s Short Musing:
We meet Jen, a writer, who can be found in the local bookstore trying to find words for her next book. What happens next sets the stage in this intriguing mystery.

The bookstore owner is murdered and for some reason, Jen finds herself being a suspect. Since she writes crime fiction, she should be able to solve this crime with a little help from her friends. Or so she thinks. This was a nicely executed whodunit with a short list of suspects and clues dispensed that had me devouring every page as I had to know who was doing what to whom. The author did a great job in moving the story along with a few twists and turns that kept me in the game. I had a sense of who the killer was, and it was fun watching it all played out, especially when the killer was identified. With the perfect backdrop of a bookstore, a likeable cast of characters, and engaging dialogue, I can’t wait for the next book in this delightfully charming debut series.
