Off the Grid by C.J. Box is the 16th book in the “Joe Pickett” suspense series. Publisher: G.P. Putnam’s Sons, March 2016

Off The GridC. J. Box returns with this suspenseful new Joe Pickett novel.

Nate Romanowski is off the grid, recuperating from wounds and trying to deal with past crimes, when he is suddenly surrounded by a small team of elite professional special operators. They’re not there to threaten him, but to make a deal. They need help destroying a domestic terror cell in Wyoming’s Red Desert, and in return they’ll make Nate’s criminal record disappear.

But they are not what they seem, as Nate’s friend Joe Pickett discovers. They have a much different plan in mind, and it just may be something that takes them all down—including Nate and Joe.

Once again, the author pulled me in immediately in this fast-paced, action-packed drama that started with three separate activities but converged in one place and it was the consequences of how this was all going to end and who would be the victor. Between Joe and Nate, more firepower was expelled and Sheridan’s knowledge kept her close to the grid. The author’s narrative kept me engaged in all aspect of this riveting and thrilling tale and had me gasping as we got closer to the finale. Another good read from a series that I enjoy and I look forward to more adventures with Joe and his friends.
