I’m Sarah Winslow a single, sleek, professional woman, living the high life in downtown Seattle–or I used to be. I thought I was experiencing the mother of all hangovers, but I have amnesia and lost five years of memory. I’m now Sarah Reddix. Apparently, I’m married to a pudgy and not-so-prosperous husband. I’m a stay-at-home-mom and raising three kids under five, including twins. My closet is full of athletic inspired footwear, clothes bought at the same place people buy their groceries, and I don’t even recognize my own body.
I can accept that I have somehow landed in the future, but what I’m struggling with is where I’ve ended up. I see none of my old self in this new environment. My bank account has been completely emptied. My friends won’t return my calls. My incompetent receptionist, whom I almost fired on several occasions, now has my job. And my so-called husband won’t give me any answers.
As I slowly piece together the mystery of how my dreams and aspirations could have disintegrated so completely in five short years, I find myself utterly failing to manage this life I can’t imagine choosing. I try tirelessly to turn my life back around while supervising three rambunctious boys, but none of the management courses I’ve taken or any of my corporate-honed skills yield results with these little people. My attempts are futile.
To complicate matters, I finally meet the man of my dreams. He is rich, successful, and adventurous, nothing like the man I married. Now I have to decide whether I follow my bliss and “do-over” my life, or do I stay with a man I committed to in a world I never wanted?
You can read more about Sarah in Wake-Up Call, the first book in the “Wake-Up” series, published by Henery Press.
About Wake-Up Call
Sarah Winslow wakes up with a terrible hangover…and a kid in her boyfriend’s bed. She makes the horrifying discovery that, due to a head injury, it’s not a hangover. She’s got memory loss. Overnight, five years have disappeared, and she’s no longer the hard-living, fast-track, ad executive party girl she thinks she is. Now, she’s the unemployed, pudgy, married, stay-at-home-mom of three kids under five, including twins.
As she slowly pieces together the mystery of how her dreams and aspirations could have disintegrated so completely in five short years, she finds herself utterly failing to manage this life she can’t imagine choosing. When Sarah meets the man of her dreams, she realizes she’s got to make a choice: Does she follow her bliss and “do-over” her life? Or does the Sarah she’s forgotten hold the answers to how she got here…and how she can stay?

Wow! Sounds great! Would love to read this! Thanks for the chance!
What a fascinating concept! Can’t wait to read this!
What a surprising premise! Definitely enticing and I’m interested to read Sarah’s story. But I’m also curious. It says this is the first book in the “Wake Up” series. I’m just wondering how other books in the series continue the story — do different people wake up, or does Sarah keep working on fixing her life?
Jane, thank you for your question. Each book within the series is about a different woman, all from Sarah’s playgroup. They each have their own “wake-up call.” You can keep in touch with the characters throughout the series, but the stories and protagonist change. I hope you enjoy 🙂 Amy Avanzino, author of WAKE-UP CALL

I’m not sure I’m living the life I envisioned years ago, but it’s not because of years I’m missing and don’t know what happened, 🙂 Interesting premise, and should be an interesting read.
I like the idea of these dual timeline stories. Thanks for the info and chance to win!
Ooh… Count me in. I really want to read this one!
Just heard a lecture from an Italian expert on Egypt who recently joined UC/B. I wonder who else I might be “listening to” from there? I also have a relative in Folsom. But it’s the premise of this novel that intrigues me.
