I’m Savannah Ivey, wife, mother of a sweet baby girl, veterinarian on leave, and the caretaker of an incredibly creative cat named Ragsdale, also known as Rags and Klepto Cat. Rags is somewhat of a celebrity because of his uncanny ability to come up with clues that help Detective Craig Sledge and the local sheriff’s department solve crimes. Patricia Fry has been writing about us for nearly two years. It all started eight books ago when Rags and I returned to my hometown in Northern California to help Aunt Margaret while she healed from a broken foot. Between Auntie and Rags, there was never a dull moment. Sure, I was willing to help solve the mystery of cats going missing in Hammond, but I didn’t sign up to be part of an illegal surveillance team, nor did I expect to be kidnapped and nearly killed.
But I must say, I was surprised at what I could bring to the party. All those Nancy Drew books I read as a child, and the exploring my sister, cousins and I did as children on my aunt’s expansive property paid off big time. I discovered that I have a knack for investigating tough mysteries, with Rags’s help, of course.
When I came to Hammond that year, I was just coming off a bad breakup. What a surprise when my heart did flips after Auntie introduced me to a steaming hot veterinarian. Since I was still grieving my long-time relationship, I wasn’t in a position to jump into another one, but what was the harm in assisting Michael Ivey with a case? I am a veterinarian, after all.
Boy did we hit it off, Michael and me. Next thing I knew, I was wearing my little black dress out to a romantic dinner with him. It was one fun spring. But when he started pressing me to marry him, I couldn’t help it; I ran like a whipped whippet. But that was then and this is now.
Currently, Michael and I live ever so happily in Auntie’s old house. She lives next door with her new husband, Max. Together they run a cattery. We still have Rags, as well as Buffy, a Himalayan-mix; Walter, a black cat and his best friend, Lexie, probably an Afghan-mix dog. Rags continues to get involved in local crime-solving. He even went to the sheriff’s office once and “pawed” the suspect he witnessed in a murder. He loves being on stage. In fact, late last year a film crew converged upon our peaceful home and filmed Rags in a documentary. In Patricia’s latest Klepto Cat Mystery installment (number 9), we travel to San Francisco to the premiere of the documentary.
Whether we stay at home or travel, there seems to always be a mystery at hand and you can count on Rags having at least one paw in the situation.
Join our family and friends (both human and feline) as we enjoy the sweet life. But be ready for anything because it is bound to happen. For example, while Rags was participating in a reading therapy program with children, he located a secret room at the library that held clues to a long forgotten mystery. He helped locate a local journalist who was being held by the evil cat hoarders she was about to expose. He threw the household in a real turmoil when he located a hex buried in the walls of our century-old home. And he helped thwart a horse thief.
What will Rags get tangled up in next? Michael and I are afraid to even imagine. But we do love the big lug.

Loving cats is easy, but getting to read all of the books that cats are mentioned in or are the main subject of a book is much more difficult. There are so many great books out now and it is just getting so difficult to have time to read them all. But am I quite sure I have two of these print books but honestly not sure as I had to put some of my books in totes and now need to check them again. This sounds so great, and Dru Ann gives the greatest reviews and keeps us up to date on the newest releases, doesn’t she?? Great job Dru Ann.
Would really be happy to be included in this giveaway.
Cynthia

Will really enjoy the series as it sounds like a lot of cat fun and mystery and a bit of romance. Great job describing the series; if I had not received a stack of books for review today, you can guess what I would have been starting next after reading this!
