Arf-arf! That’s dog-speak for “hello, there.” My name is Sergeant Brigit and I’m a K-9 officer with the Fort Worth Police Department. Being a cop is dangerous work, especially for a K-9 officer like me whose job it is to sniff out drugs, search for bad guys in dark buildings, and take down fleeing criminals. You know, all that stuff that mere humans can’t do.
I was recently paired up with rookie officer Megan Luz. She hasn’t seen much action yet, that’s for sure. Her uniform lacks that essence of terror-induced sweat that can never be fully washed out. Rumor has it she tasered her former partner, Derek “The Big Dick” Mackey, in the nuts after he made some sexist wisecrack. Not a smart move on Megan’s part, even if that jerk had it coming. I can tell Megan has a lot to learn. Fortunately, I’m up to the task of training her. If you ask me, I’m the most skilled cop on the force. I can smell the adrenaline a suspect produces when he’s lying. I can run at speeds up to 30 miles per hour. And I can jump over obstacles up to six feet tall. If not for a lack of opposable thumbs, I’d probably be running the force.
As partners, Megan and I now form a pack, whether we like it or not. I can tell she wasn’t too thrilled when the chief paired us up. Well, I’m not exactly jumping for joy, either. She wears too much flowery cologne, lives in a tiny apartment with no yard, and has organic tofu rather than hot dogs in her fridge. On the bright side, I can smell an entire smorgasbord of shoes in her apartment closet. And on an even brighter side, a recent bombing incident put the two of us in contact with a sexy bomb squad officer and his explosive-sniffing dog Blast. Blast is a yellow lab with gorgeous brown eyes. Bow-chicka-bow-wow. Let’s just say it’s a good thing he’s neutered . . .

I would luv, luv, love to have a copy of Diane Kelly’s new series. I laughed my way through the Tara Holloway series and love to start the Paw Enforcement.
So glad you’ve enjoyed Tara’s exploits! I love getting her in trouble.
I love series with animals and Brigit sound terrific!
I have several pets and can’t even imagine life without them! Guess it’s natural I’d make a dog a primary character.
another new cozy series?!?!? YES!!!!
Yes!!! Cozies rule! Though this is a wee bit edgier than many cozies. : )
This sounds that a great new series!
I had a blast with these characters and can’t wait to see where all I can go with them.
This sounds like a great new series! I love the cover!
Adorable, isn’t it?
Since I owned the absolute best German Shepherd for 10 years, I know I’d love this first book in a romantic mystery series. Dogs and law enforcement, how can you go wrong?

I have a shepherd mix now and he’s a great dog, too! So smart it kind of freaks me out sometimes.
I’m reading this book right now and I’m so loving it.
So glad you are enjoying it, Dru!
Aw, I like the theme of this series. Thank you for the chance to win 🙂
Good luck!
Love series with an animal friend. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
Got my fingers crossed for you!
This sounds great. Sometimes animal protagonists in mysteries can be cloying, but K-9 officers are real crime fighters, and this looks like a fun and fitting tribute to them!
Yep, she’s a tough dog. A real b*tch sometimes! : )
This book has everything going for it – dogs and humor, mystery and a fun protagonist. Oh, and a human one, too.
Yeah, sometimes I feel like the dig is really the star and the cop is her sidekick instead of the other way around.
I Love Diane Kelly’s other series. I am sure this one will be just as great. I can’t wait to read.
Thanks, Staci! Hope you will like Megan and Brigit as much ad Tara!
This looks like a fun one!
It is ! Though perhaps I am a bit biased… Haha
Sounds like a series with attitude. Can’t wait to read.
Yep, the dog often “cops ” a ‘tude. (Sorry! I can never resist a pun!)
She’s sounds like a great dog. I’d like to meet her.
She’s awesome! And she has great hair. Her human partner uses her flea shampoo to try to get the same shine.
I love the cover, Brigit is so cute and her human Megan sounds feisty. Thanks for the chance to win, I’m adding this to the tbr list.
The artists always do such a great job in my covers !
And this book sounds like such a fun read, would love to win it.
Good luck !
I love the “Death and Taxes” series and this one sounds just as fun.

Another new series to add to the list. Looks like a fun read

I figured the dog might want some love, too. : )
Thanks to everyone for stopping by! I’m so excited about this new series. I loved writing the dog’s point of view, and found myself really enjoying getting into the villain’s head, too. Not sure what that says about me . . . : )
No hot dogs in her fridge? Poor dog, lol! This sounds like so much fun!
Yep, Brigit is going to have to learn to like carrots!
Love the idea of writing from the dog’s point of view. And I love the police dogs. This looks like a great new series. Look forward to reading it.
It was a hoot getting in the dog’s head. They are so intelligent yet still instinctive.
Sounds like a very good fun book. Would love to read it.
It will make you “howl” with laughter! (How’s that for a goofy pun?)
This looks awesome! Can’t wait to read it.
Thanks!
This book sounded so good to me when I first heard about it and I really want to get this for my sister in Florida who has a couple of sad dog stories and I think that would cheer her up.
Thank you. .
Cynthia
Sad dog stories? Oh, no! I bet this would make her smile.
Eager to read it.
Thanks, Barbara!
The Death and Taxes series is one of my favorites, so I am excited Diane is writing another series.
Thanks, Lynette! I’ve had a great time with Tara and have some fun ideas for her in the future.
“Paw Enforcement” sounds delightful!
Sounds intriguing!
Excited to read this! Love FT. Worth! ! Thanks for the review and giveaway!
I haven’t read any of your books but this one sounds exciting. Going to put it on my wish list. Thank you for the opportunity to win a copy.
I’ve always been fascinated by he relationship police dogs and their handlers have. I’d love to read your take on it- especially as I’m a huge animal lover!
