Since my sister-in-law the writer is too busy to check in with you guys, I’m here today to dish on the latest happenings around the Casa Lido Restaurant in Oceanside Park, New Jersey. I’m Sofia, wife of Vic’s brother Danny, but also her highly valued investigative partner. But you can’t tell Danny because he thinks I stopped helping Vic with her “research.” He happens to be a cop and a real straight arrow, but he’s also very cute, which is why I keep him around.
So Vic and I have solved two murders already, and it looks like we might end up with one more—if you’ll pardon the expression—on our plate. You see, my in-laws, Frank and Nicolina Rienzi, along with Nonna Rienzi (who’s really a doll, despite what everyone says about her) are planning a big party to celebrate the Casa Lido’s anniversary. Trouble is, there’s a hurricane headed up the coast, and Nonna won’t hear of moving the party inside. My father-in-law Frank has his generator all ready to go, but Danny’s worried and thinks we should cancel altogether.
And to top it off, there’s been this homeless guy hanging around the restaurant. His name is Pietro Petrocelli, but everybody calls him Stinky Pete. (For obvious reasons.) He comes around asking for wine, and even though we’re not supposed to give him any, he manages to get his hands on a bottle. Or two. So Vic’s wondering if he found a way into the wine cellar. But I’m thinking someone gave him the wine to deliberately get him good and drunk—dangerously drunk. You see, Pete makes a habit of collecting information on people and brags about “knowing things.” Things that maybe somebody doesn’t want out there in public.
So right now, the Casa Lido is ripe for a perfect storm of unfortunate events, and if the worst happens, you can be sure that Victoria will be on the spot to solve the mystery. And her loyal sidekick will be right there beside her. Because, c’mon—where would she be without me?

Hi, Rosie – The description of your book sounds intriguing and reminds me of the trips my sister and I took, via bus and train, to get to the NJ shore from central Pennsylvania.
