Good morning! I’m Stormi Nelson, best-selling romance author and a bit of a recluse. But, people tend to disrupt my orderly life. Especially since most of my neighbors have preconceived ideas about romance writers and tend to snicker behind their hands. I’d like to take a moment to tell you how I got my new book to the NYT Best-seller’s list. It wasn’t easy.
When my agent tells me my characters are becoming a bit … stale, I decide it’s time to get out and mingle. What a mistake! I set up a Neighborhood Watch program, but no one joins. So, I do as any responsible member of the community would do and decide to patrol the streets on my own. Another mistake! On my first night, I run across a dead body and a giant dog. The dog turns out to be a wimp, so no problem there. Of course, once I meet the handsome detective assigned to the case, who also happens to be my neighbor, I think maybe this patrolling the neighborhood might not be such a bad thing. And, it sets me off on a new path for my writing.
Since I’m already thrust into the middle of a murder investigation, I decide to write a romantic mystery about the unfolding events. Mistake number three, but it’s too late to back out now. Add to that the fact my mother, my divorced sister and her two teenagers move into my house, and I become the new owner of Giant Wimpy Dog, and my life has entered a new state of chaos.
All I want is to be left alone to write my books. Is that really too much to ask? Not to mention my “research” might drive a wedge between me and my new boyfriend. But, I have made a new friend, found a wonderful plot for a new book, and pleased my agent. So, despite the danger I seem to attract, I’ve managed to change my life for the better.

Multi-published and Best-Selling author Cynthia Hickey had three cozy mysteries and two novellas published through Barbour Publishing. Her first mystery, “Fudge-Laced Felonies,” won first place in the inspirational category of

Anything for a Story sounds like the start of another great series by Cynthia. I loved her cozy series featuring Summer, so fun!
I think this story is a great concept of a writer writing about a writer. Love it. Cute and eye-catching cover as well. I don’t think that I have any of Cynthia’s books as I tend to remember the name, but I do have the desire to read this book and the series for sure. Thank you for the giveaway.
