Tarnished and Torn by Juliet Blackwell is the fifth book in the “Witchcraft” mystery series. Publisher: Obsidian, July 2013
As the owner of a popular vintage clothing store, Lily Ivory can enjoy a day of antique jewelry shopping and still call it work. But as one of San Francisco’s resident witches, searching for hidden treasures can sometimes lead to dangerous discoveries.
When Lily arrives at an antique jewelry fair, her bargain sensors go off left and right—but she also picks up a faint vibration of magic. Could the hard-bargaining merchant Griselda be a fellow practitioner? It certainly seems that way when a sudden fire sends panic through the crowd, and Lily discovers Griselda murdered in a way that nods to an old-fashioned witch hunt…
A crime that hits close to home turns into an unwelcome flash from the past when the police bring in their lead suspect—Lily’s estranged father. Though he may not deserve her help, Lily is determined to clear her father’s name and solve a murder that’s anything but crystal clear
I always have a good time when I visit Lily and her friends in this delightfully charming series that keeps getting better and better each year. It was good to see Lily come into her own and I can’t wait to see what new adventures we’ll have next time we are in Haight Ashbury.
It is always a good time with Lily and I’m looking forward to this one.
I must get back to this series.
This is a new series to me. Sounds like fun.
Not having read this series YET I cannot comment on it but it does sound interesting. But I have heard good reviews on this series and how the most recent books are written very well, and so I will definitely add Juliet’s series to my list of want to read books. The theme is different than other cozies so I really feel that this will work for me, so need to get started on them. Thank you for the interview with Ms. Blackwell, Dru. Continued success Juliet.
Another great series, to add my reading list. Thanks, Dru for keeping us inform about these great authors.
Oh dear, I’m behind on this series! Need to read the 4th one first – In a Witch’s Wardrobe. I also enjoy Juliet’s other series – Haunted Home Renovation Mysteries. I just bought Murder on the House and see now there’s another one due at the end of 2013 – Home for the Haunting. Thank you, Dru for getting these authors to us. Makes the TBR list longer and longer; but at least I have a plan!
I love this series. Hopefully I’ll be able to make TUSCON 40 in the fall. She’s one of the headline guests!
