Can I say mid-30s? That’s precise enough.

What is your profession?
I’m the best darn cupcake baker in the Midwest.

Do you have a significant other?
Yes!

What is their name and profession?
Logan Allen. He’s now a detective in the gang squad. When we met, he was undercover, but that’s a whole other story.

Do you have any children?
Nope. Or not yet? I’m not sure.

Do you have any siblings?
No. Single child here.

Are your parents nearby?
Physically, yes. Mentally, far, far, away.

Who is your best friend?
Callie Muller. We own the cupcake bakery Callie’s Cakes together.

Do you have any pets?
No. I’d probably accidentally poison a pet with all the chocolate in our house.

What town do you live in?
Madison, Wisconsin.

Would you say you live in a small town or a big city?
I’d say Madison is a big-ish city with a small town feel.

Type of dwelling and do you own or rent?
For the moment, I’ve moved into my fiancé’s apartment. Once we’re married, we’ll buy a house. Something with a porch.

What is your favorite spot in your home?
The kitchen! I got lucky with Logan’s apartment. He has a brand-spanking-new kitchen he never used.

Favorite meal and dessert?
Favorite dessert is easy – cupcakes! Doesn’t matter what kind. If it’s a cupcake, I love it. My favorite meal is more difficult. I tend to love comfort food – mac & cheese, meatloaf – that kind of thing.

Do you have any hobbies?
Chasing killers is a hobby, right?

What is your favorite vacation spot?
I haven’t been on vacation much in the past, but rumor has it my future husband booked an awesome vacation through Europe to visit Europe’s best bakeries. I’m sure one of these bakeries will become my favorite vacation spot.

What music do you listen to?
Anything with a fast beat. I like 80s music the best.

Do you have a favorite book?
Books are awesome, but I have to admit I don’t read much. I do love a good cookbook, though. One of my all-time favorites is How to Be a Domestic Goddess by Nigella Lawson. The title makes me smile every time I pick it up.

What is your idea of a really fun time?
Any time I get to spend with my girls Callie and Kristie is a fun time. Even if we’re chasing a killer, it’s all fun.

If you were to write a memoir, what would you call it?

Amateur or professional sleuth and whom do you work with?
Totally amateur here. Although I’m pretty darn good at is, so maybe professionally good but not paid? I work with my two bakery gals, Callie and Kristie. For some reason, they aren’t always as enthusiastic as me when it comes to crime solving.

In a few sentences, what is a typical day in your life like?
I get up super-duper early, before the rooster crows, to start baking. I bake cupcakes and all kinds of goodies for several hours to make sure Callie’s Cakes is all stocked up on scrumptious goodies. When the café closes at four, it’s usually time to start digging into whatever mystery we’re working on. At the moment, we have a very important mystery to solve. The cops believe my fiancé committed a murder. As if. Don’t worry. I’ll prove them wrong.
