Bradley sits down for a question-and-answer session with dru’s book musings so that we can get to know him better.

What is your full name?
Bradley Hudson Cole

How old are you?
Forty.

What is your profession?
I’m President and Chief Executive Officer at the Bellissimo Resort and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Do you have a significant other?
Do I ever.

What is her name and profession?
My wife’s name is Davis Way Cole, and after a career in law enforcement, she now works indirectly for me as an undercover security operative at the Bellissimo.

Do you have any children?
Davis and I have four-year-old twin daughters, Bexley Anne and Caroline Quinn.

Do you have any siblings?
I’m an only child.

Are your parents nearby?
Much to my mother’s chagrin, we do not live close to each other. I was born and raised in Tyler, Texas, where my father died when I was young, and where my mother still lives in the house I grew up in.

Who is your best friend?
Hands down, my wife.

Do you have cats, dogs, or other pets?
We have a goldendoodle, Candy, a loyal companion and best friend to our daughters. It’s as if Davis and I have triplet girls—Bex, Quinn, and Candy—all sporting blonde curls. We also have an Old English sheepdog, Cotton, who is challenging on several levels. One, his size, weighing in at just under one hundred and fifty pounds. Two, his peculiarities, for example, running headlong into walls several times a day. And three, his antics. Most recently, he reduced a $9,000 sectional sofa to rubble in under an hour.

What town do you live in?
Biloxi, Mississippi.

What type of dwelling do you own or rent?
Davis, the girls, the dogs, and I live on the twenty-ninth floor of the Bellissimo hotel tower in the President’s Residence.

What is your favorite spot in your home?
It depends on the time of day. I’m quite fond of our kitchen table, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, enjoying early-morning of coffee with my wife while the rest of the house sleeps. I very much enjoy the hour I spend in Bexley and Quinn’s shockingly pink playroom at the end of my work day. And after the girls are tucked in, I am most comfortable and at peace in the sitting room adjacent to the master bedroom, catching up with my wife.

What is your favorite meal and dessert?
Texan by birthright and at heart, I love authentic Mexican food. I’ve yet to meet an enchilada I didn’t immediately become fast friends with. Not surprisingly, my favorite dessert is sopapillas, warm from the fryer and drizzled with honey.

Do you have any hobbies?
College football. Hook ‘em Horns. And I play work golf. By that, I mean I enjoy the game immensely and would play more often if I could. As it is, the only time I can squeeze in a round is when it’s a work related outing with high-rolling casino patrons, accountants, visiting entertainment acts, or too often, politicians.

What music do you listen to?
Elevator.

What is your favorite color?
I don’t know that I had a favorite color before I met my wife, but established one right away when I did. The color of her hair, which is just this side of red, is unduplicated in anything found in nature. It’s somewhere between copper, rose gold, and caramel. She often wears it in what I call a Pebble’s ponytail, gathered high on her head and out of her way. Yet golden pink whisps escape.

What is your favorite vacation spot?
Given that I live and work at a resort, I prefer less populated locales when we can get away, but with young daughters, that’s almost impossible. Our most recent family vacation destination was The Peppa Pig Theme Park in Winter Haven, Florida, earning it a place high on my list of Never Again Vacations.

Are you a morning or night person?
Unfortunately, I’m both. A job hazard.

What is your idea of a really fun time?
Sunset.

If you were to write a memoir, what would you call it?
Life with Davis

Amateur or professional sleuth and whom do you work with?
I’m neither. I’m a no-longer-practicing attorney. Although I’m married to a professional who seldom conducts investigations in anything close to a professional way. But with a bachelor’s (one of two) in Criminal Justice and a background in law enforcement, she’s still recognized as one. I’ll say this: she gets the job done every time. I worry that the day will come that her ends don’t justify her means, but so far, so good.

What is a typical day in your life like?
I don’t remember a typical day. I’m not sure I remember the definition of a typical day. I can tell you my typical schedule. Five thirty wakeup, at my desk by seven, where I assume firefighting duties putting out casino fires until the end of my work day, which could be anywhere between five and eight in the evening. All subject to atypical events at the drop of a hat.
