Broken Pieces by Carla Cassidy features our heroine, Mariah Sayers who was brutally attacked sixteen years ago and due to non-caring parents, she ran away from home. She’s back in her hometown to get the house she inherited from her father in shape to sell and return back to Chicago. Someone doesn’t want her and her daughter back by leaving warnings for her to leave. In the meantime, Mariah has fallen in love and both she and her daughter like the simplicity of small-town living. This romantic suspense has everything, the mystery of who attacked Mariah; the mystery of what happened to all the missing people and her growing love for Jack and the town she left behind. This was a very good story that I couldn’t put down.
