I am Clyde, a cat with a mission. I don’t speak on the pages of Leann Sweeney’s latest Cats in Trouble Mystery, but I thought I would make an exception for Dru Ann’s blog. She’s a special friend of Leann, my creator.
I set out on a long journey from Hilton Head Island to Mercy, South Carolina because I am one determined feline. I missed my best friend and besides, he was a very sick man when I was sent to live with his relatives. Why I was sent away is spelled out in the book, so I won’t spoil that part for you.
Cats can be as loyal as dogs, they can travel miles on end to get back to where they belong and I am no exception. You’ve heard the stories in the news, so you know it’s true. You’ll learn how I ended up with heroine Jillian Hart if you read the book, so instead I will offer a little backstory about me, Clyde. I am a big, handsome orange tabby and rescued by Shawn Cuddahee as a kitten. I was then adopted by a wonderful man. We became best friends. He needed a friend like me because his family is—what do you humans call it?–dysfunctional. I prefer crazy, but then cats always tell it like it is.
My 200 mile trip wasn’t as difficult as it might have been. I know how to make friends and influence people who have cat food readily available. I’d stay for a bit at a nice home and then be off again. See, cats have the equivalent of GPS in their brains. That’s why you hear those stories about long return trips to beloved owners. It may be amazing to the public, but it’s what cats do when people mistakenly believe they’re lost—that is if certain cats are so inclined.
What I found when I returned to Mercy wasn’t what I expected. But you’ll have to read the book to find all that out. I just wanted to say hello and let you know that Leann Sweeney told my story. I appreciate her help in bringing me to life. And I don’t even require fictional treats as a thank you.

I love Clyde! Reminds me of the orange tabby we had when I was MUCH younger, lol. Typical junkyard cat with the oh so original name of CAT! So smart tho, would sit for 5-10 minutes watching the highway before SAFELY crossing!
great cover, thank you for the chance to win it
I loved the first book and can’t wait to start the second.
This sounds like a great book. I have not read any, but would love to win this one. I love to try new authors.
Can’t wait to read this one!
I have a big, orange tabby, who reminds me of Clyde, named Big Guy. Big Guy’s momma snuck in a basement window that was left open. When I asked her who she belonged to, she walked upstairs and never left.
Sounds great! One way or another I will be reading this book!
This sounds like a great book. 🙂
I love this series and can’t wait to read this one.
Sounds like a great book. Love stories with animals
I just discovered this series. This book especially has an interesting premise. Would love to read this one.
Love this series ! Thanks for the giveaway !
SO looking forward to reading, “The Cat, The Vagabond and The Victim”…and Clyde is one handsome kitty!
Enjoyed Clyde’s “story”. Would love a copy of the book.
Sounds like a great series.
This one tugs at my heart strings because I love ginger cats
Half way thru this amazing book…..have my “Pedro”(Clyde) earrings on…lol….just luv him….had to post so now back to Clyde! Thank you Leann for another super hit!
My cats always in trouble. I have to read this.
Thanks for the back-story, Clyde. I didn’t know about cat GPS. I would have thought cats and dogs have good memories for the lay-of-the-land. Unlike people like me who are direction challenged.
Looks like a great cozy read.
This sounds absolutely adorable! I do love that cats can find their way back to owners (if they feel so inclined, as Clyde points out).
This does sound like a treat.
I’ve read several books by this author and loved them—thanks for the opportunity to win her latest!
As a cat lover, this sounds perfect to me!
I love the Cats in Trouble series! My first cat was an orange tabby (named Tinker) so I can’t wait to read about Clyde.
I want to read more about Clyde, he sounds like a one determined cat.
I definitely agree that cats can be as loyal as dogs, if not more so. When I was a child, I had a cat that used to go on a walk with my mom every day. No leash or anything. She’d call Target–our cat–to ” let’s go for a walk” and he’d come running to our front door. He stayed with her , at her pace, as she walked or stopped to talk with someone, and continue until they returned to the house. This story sounds very interesting , going on a 200 mile walk , plus adding in a mystery!!!
I love the series, so pull out my tattered old hat Dru and toss it into the contest ring please.
I must read this book to “meet” Clyde–he seems to be much like my Cassius cat who I miss so much.

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity! Cats are THE BEST!! I spoil my furbabies and wouldn’t have it any other way! 🙂
Love this series. I really need to catch up on it.
Would love to read this one
I want to find out why Clyde was sent away.
Love Ragdolls. Miss my bossy girl.
Love this series.
I have this series in my TBR pile………..
need to start it soon!!!
This book sounds like a winner, also showing something I didn’t know about cats. I had no idea that cats would travel that far to their former home/owner. A friend of ours had a cat who somehow navigated about 10 miles in Phoenix to find their last apartment, which thought was amazing. Thank you for the interview. Looking forward to the book!
Absolutely love this series by Leann!
I’ve been waiting for this one to come out. My sister bought it, so now I have to wait for her to read unless I can win one of my own.
I have loved this series, but this one just may make me cry. I know I get teary every time I read a book about a cat/cats as it makes me think of all of my beautiful kitties that now reside in Kitty Heaven. Looking forward to getting this and reading soon.
Cynthia
