Cold Turkey by Shelley Freydont is the first short story in the “Celebration Bay” mystery series. Publisher: Berkley Prime Crime, August 2013
This Thanksgiving in Celebration Bay, it’s murder with all the trimmings…
Event coordinator Liv Montgomery is not only in charge of this year’s Turkey Trot in Celebration Bay, she’s participating as one of the runners. But not long after the race begins, gunshots are heard and a body is found in a remote section of woods. Did a local crank shoot the man for trespassing? Or is there a darker, more complex motive for plucking this runner before he crosses the finish line? Now it’s Liz’s turn to race to find the cold-blooded killer.
This was an enjoyable read with the citizens from Celebration Bay. A runner is found dead and Liv and others are on the case in this delightfully appealing whodunit.
Liv outdoes herself this time. Move over, Jessica Fletcher. There’s a new girl in town.
Sounds like a great new series; joined Shelley on FB this week, so will follow her series that way too. Can’t wait to read what Shelley has in store for her readers. Good luck with everything, Shelley.
It is nice when there is a short story to introduce you to a new series or author. It really gives you a flavor for what to expect. This sounds like a good read.
