King and MaxwellKing and Maxwell by David Baldacci is the sixth book in the “King & Maxwell” thriller series. Publisher: Grand Central Publishing, November 2013

It seems at first like a simple, tragic story. Tyler Wingo, a teenage boy, learns the awful news that his father, a soldier, was killed in action in Afghanistan. Then the extraordinary happens: Tyler receives a communication from his father . . . after his supposed death.

Tyler hires Sean and Michelle to solve the mystery surrounding his father. But their investigation quickly leads to deeper, more troubling questions. Could Tyler’s father really still be alive? What was his true mission? Could Tyler be the next target?

Sean and Michelle soon realize that they’ve stumbled on to something bigger and more treacherous than anyone could have imagined. And as their hunt for the truth leads them relentlessly to the highest levels of power and to uncovering the most clandestine of secrets, Sean and Michelle are determined to help and protect Tyler–though they may pay for it with their lives.

Sean and Michelle are back and of course they get embroiled in a case that people from the government want them to walk away from it, but of course this is Sean and Michelle who will do every thing possible to protect their client. This was a fast-paced, action-filled thriller that I could not put down. I love how the story flows from chapter to chapter keeping the suspense heightened to the point where nothing else matters until the next scene. Every scene, every chase had me quickly turning the pages to see what happens next. With a gripping plot, there is still time to enjoy the witty and engaging repartee between Sean and Michelle who have an endearing partnership. This is one of the best book in this terrific series and with the addition of Edgar, this team is now complete and I look forward to more thrilling adventures with the team.
