Sometimes the best way to know a person is by asking questions, so let’s meet Lady Georgiana.

What is your name?
My full name is Victoria Georgiana Charlotte Eugenie, but I’m usually known as Georgie. Lady Georgiana, actually if you want to be correct. I’m the daughter of a duke and second cousin to King George V.

How old are you?
Now, after 12 books, I am 24.

What is your profession?
I’m the daughter of a duke. We don’t have professions. We are supposed to marry well.

Do you have a significant other?
Oh yes. His name is Darcy O’Mara. The honorable Darcy O’Mara, since he’s also the son of a lord. And since my new foray is called Four Funerals and Maybe a Wedding you might hope that he’ll be more than a significant other soon.

What is his profession?
Well, that’s a trifle mysterious. He won’t actually say what he’s doing when he jaunts off around the world but I suspect he works for the British government as some kind of spy at times.

Any children?
Oh dear, no. We are not married yet!

Do you have any sibling(s)?
I have one half brother, Hamish Duke of Rannoch, who is known to his friends and family as Binky.

Cats, dogs or other pets?
No real home any more so alas no pets.

What town do you live in?
Again that’s a good question. I used to live in our Scottish castle and London house until I was presented at court. Then my sister-in-law made it very clear that they had no money to support me and I was on my own. So I have stayed with various friends and relatives.

What is your favorite spot in your house?
I love a good view from a window.

Who is your best friend?
The Hon Belinda Warburton-Stoke. We were at school together and have remained close.

Amateur sleuth or professional?
Horribly amateur. I don’t seek out murders. They just seem to happen, and when my nearest and dearest are accused, I feel obliged to solve them.

Whom do you work with when sleuthing?
Darcy is brilliant when he’s around. But other than that my grandfather, who was a former policeman is jolly useful. And at time my disaster of a maid has proved to be a great asset.

Favorite meal?
A good English roast dinner. Lamb or beef.

Favorite dessert?
That’s hard. I love all kinds of puddings. Trifle is delicious.

Favorite hobby?
Riding my horse.

Favorite vacation spot?
I loved my time in Nice (apart from the murder). But anywhere with Darcy.

Favorite color?
Blue.

Favorite author?
That’s easy. Rhys Bowen. She’s absolutely brilliant.

Favorite sports team?
I don’t really follow many sports. I love to hunt, of course. And watch the Scottish highland games. And I quite enjoy tennis.

Movies or Broadway?
I’ve never been to Broadway, but my mother was a famous actress on the London stage before she married my father. I wish I’d see her. I bet she was jolly good.

Are you a morning or a night person?
Oh morning, absolutely.

In a few sentences, what is a typical day in your life like?
It depends where I am. If I’m staying with friends at a country house I’ll wake when my maid brings tea. Have kidneys or kippers for breakfast, maybe go out for a ride or a long walk. Rest after lunch. Enjoy tea with the family then go up to change for dinner. It sounds frightfully dull when put like that.

BIO: Lady Georgie is the daughter of the late Duke of Rannoch and famous actress Claire Daniels. He grandmother was one of Queen Victoria’s daughters. She was born and raised at Castle Rannoch in Scotland, educated in Switzerland and made her debut before the king and queen. Since then she has been trying to find her way in life, not always successfully until she met the Hon. Darcy O’Mara, a dashing Irish rogue. Since then her life has been complicated by finding dead bodies. But she hopes to marry soon and settle down.

You can read about Lady Georgiana in Four Funerals and Maybe a Wedding, the 12th book in the “Royal Spyness” mystery series. The first book in the series is Her Royal Spyness.

In the days leading up to her wedding to Darcy O’Mara, Lady Georgiana Rannoch takes on the responsibilities of a grand estate, but proving she can run a household just may be the death of her in the new Royal Spyness Mystery from the New York Times bestselling author of On Her Majesty’s Frightfully Secret Service.

If only Darcy and I had eloped! What I thought would be a simple wedding has been transformed into a grand affair, thanks to the attendance of the queen, who has offered up the princesses as bridesmaids. Silly me! I thought that withdrawing from the royal line of succession would simplify my life. But before Darcy and I tie the knot in front of queen and country, we have to find a place to live as man and wife. . .

House hunting turns out to be a pretty grim affair. Just as we start to lose hope, my globetrotting godfather offers us his fully staffed country estate. Mistress of Eynsleigh I shall be! With Darcy off in parts unknown, I head to Eynsleigh alone, only to have my hopes dashed. The grounds are in disarray and the small staff is suspiciously incompetent. Not to mention the gas tap leak in my bedroom, which I can only imagine was an attempt on my life. Something rotten is afoot–and bringing the place up to snuff may put me six feet under before I even get a chance to walk down the aisle. . .
