Love and loss often go hand in hand.
I deal with both on a daily basis. With my consulting work through the Massachusetts State Police, I help solve missing person cases. People who are loved—and who are lost. There are some cases that have happily ever afters—but not many.
With my job at Valentine Inc., my family’s matchmaking business, I locate people who are loved—and who are lost. Most cases have happily ever afters—but there are some that do not.
With my own life, I’ve been lucky enough not to have lost anyone close to me, though I worry about the love of my life, Sean Donahue, on a daily (sometimes hourly) basis, thanks to his health problems. The thought of losing him has almost sabotaged our relationship a number of times. But I’m stubborn. And I love him. And the combination is almost enough to keep the worry at bay. Almost.
Now, he’s facing a new threat—an arsonist is targeting his family? What else can I do but try to figure out who it is before the fires become deadly? The things a girl does when she’s in love…
Despite the concerns, I’ve chosen to live for the moment, to follow that old saying that it is better to love and lose than never love at all. More importantly, to believe it.
It’s the only way to really live, don’t you think?

Meet the author
Heather Webber (aka Heather Blake) grew up in a suburb of Boston, where she learned early on how to ride the T, skip rocks in the ocean, and root for the Red Sox. As a young mother, she tried her hand at writing novels and hasn’t looked back. These days she lives in southwestern Ohio with her family. She is currently hard at work on her next novel.

Cool book
Heather, I literally just devoured Perfectly Matched. Oh, how I love Lucy…and Sean…and the whole gang. You kept me guessing, that is for sure, and left us with plenty of cliffhangers! I’ve got Digging Up Trouble waiting to be read next.

This sounds like fun. Definitely added to my list. Love stories set in Mass. Like you I grew up riding the T and rooting for the redsox! Still rooting, just from the other side of the country.

The series is so much fun to read. The characters are people who would make interesting friends. I am absolutely wanting Lucy and Sean to live happily and healthily ever after.
I’m going to try one more time to comment here. This post just seems to kick me off. But I think this should be a fun series with that job combo that Lucy has—and I’ve put the series on my TBR list.
