Maizie Albright first appeared in 15 Minutes and one of the best ways to learn about a person is by asking questions, so let’s get to know Maizie.

What is your name?
Maizie Albright. Technically, Maizie Marlin Spayberry. But my contracts all say Maizie Albright. Since they’re written by, you know, Vicki Albright.

How old are you?
Twenty-five. But I can play 19 to about 40.

What is your profession?
I’m very excited to say private investigator. Although I’m just an apprentice for two years. So not officially. Officially, my profession is. . .not an actress.

Do you have a significant other?
*blushes* No. At least not outside my head.

What is his/her name and profession?
Wyatt Nash. But he’s my boss and he doesn’t approve of office relationships. He owns Nash Security Solutions. He also has the same eye color as Paul Newman. Which doesn’t affect his profession. But it does affect me.

Any children?
Not yet! Wait. What?

Do you have any sibling(s)?
My six-year-old half-sister, Remi—Remington Marie Spayberry. She was named after Daddy’s second favorite rifle. Her mother Carol Lynn thought the name was adorable, just like Remi. My middle name, Marlin, is Daddy’s favorite rifle. Which he sneakily wrote on my birth certificate when Vicki was knocked out on post-birth painkillers.

Does your parents live near you?
I live with my father, Boomer Spayberry.

Who is your best friend?
Tiffany and Rhonda. They are two people, but they come as a package. And they do hair and nails. Which is like a bonus blessing.

Cats, dogs or other pets?
There is a passel of Jack Russells at Daddy’s. I don’t even know how many we have. We can’t get them in the same spot long enough to count them.

What town do you live in?
Black Pine, Georgia. Formerly, Beverly Hills, California.

House or building complex? Own or Rent?
I live with my father, Boomer Spayberry. Judge’s orders. But I couldn’t afford to live anywhere else, anyway. Apprenticing a broke PI doesn’t even clear minimum wage. And even if my dreams come true, we’d have to live in his office because that’s where he lives. I think. I found his Hugo Boss undies in the file cabinet.

What is your favorite spot in your house?
My closet. Although I hate closets. I’m claustrophobic. But my closet has all my clothes in it.

Favorite meal? Favorite dessert?
Anything fried.
I’d say donuts, but I think they’re more of a meal.

Favorite hobby? Favorite color?
I barely make minimum wage, so I’d say my job is also my hobby. Otherwise, I’d say spa days.
Green is my color, but I love pink.

Favorite vacation spot?
Fiji was nice. I also liked Cannes. We used to go to Baja all the time. But my favorite vacations were visiting Daddy in Black Pine.

Favorite author?
Definitely not anyone who writes for the National Enquirer. I like reading the Ladybug Girl books Book by David Soman and Jacky Davis with Remi. Ladybug Girl kicks butt! And her dog is adorable.

Favorite sports team?
Um.

Movies or Broadway?
You know, I mostly did TV because Vicki found TV a steadier income with all the “changes” I went through in high school. Plus Kung Fu Kate and Julia Pinkerton, Teen Detective were such hits, that it just made sense to stay on that track. She planned to segue me into movies, but to be honest, my heart was really on the stage. If I had stayed an actress — with the caveat of getting out of Vicki’s contracts — I would’ve totally been focused on Broadway.

But my real heart lies in private investigations. Ever since starring in Julia Pinkerton, I’ve wanted to be a detective. And thanks to getting arrested and put on probation, I got out of Vicki’s contracts and get to live my dream!

Are you a morning or a night person?
I’m used to early calls on the set, so I guess morning. But now I kind of do both. That’s the life of a PI, I guess!

Amateur sleuth or professional?
Professionally amateur?

Whom do you work with when sleuthing?
Wyatt Nash ♥ !

In a few sentences, what is a typical day in your life like?
Well, this week I’m helping some teen YouTube stars find their missing costar. And then there was the bank heist that—I can’t really talk about that, I get too emotional—but I’m kind of running Nash Security Solutions.

Alone.

We were pretty close to bankruptcy as it is since Nash’s ex-wife Jolene decided to open her own investigation office and steal all our clients. I need to get Roger’s mother — Roger’s the one who blew up the bank — to pay us, which has been a challenge. She hired us to watch Roger, but even if her son blew up a bank (and Nash) during our surveillance, she still needs to settle her invoice.

My probation officer told me I had to begin my community service and start seeing a therapist this week. That’s up at the new Wellspring Center, a celebrity health resort. Where my ex-fiancé— the one that got me arrested in the first place — is staying. I’m sure Vicki’s got something to do with that.

And in between searching for the missing YouTube star, playing collection agent, finding new business, doing community service, seeing an alleged therapist, ducking my mother and my ex-fiancé, I’m going to the hospital. . .

Which does make me a morning and night person, since I’m not sleeping much. But I’m sure it’ll all work out. Right?

You can read about Maizie in NC-17, the third book in the “Maizie Albright Star Detective” romantic comedy mystery series.

#StillDetectiveing As an ex-star of a hit teen detective show, Maizie Albright gets the youth demographic. Or so she thought. Now that she’s adulting, today’s kids make Maizie feel out of date. At least the teen Youtube stars of Bigfoot Trackers who want to hire her to look into the disappearance and possible murder of their producer. A murder the police find as likely as Bigfoot.

Maizie has her own suspicions about the new celebrity retreat where their missing person was last seen. Particularly when she learns her ex-fiancé has been hired to run the Center. Kind of an issue when she thought Oliver was in prison. Kind of an issue when Nash, the man of her dreams, is out of commission.

Wait, not man of her dreams.
Boss of her fantasies. Professionally speaking, of course.

While Maizie’s looking for a missing Youtube star, she’s wrangling her mother’s wedding, assuaging an overzealous probation officer, and struggling to keep Nash Security Solutions solvent. Conspiracy theories collide with real-life catastrophes beginning with murder and possibly ending with Maizie’s life.
