A Likely Story by Jenn McKinlay is the sixth book in the “Library Lover’s” cozy mystery series. Publisher: Berkley Prime Crime, November 2015
NOT HIS BROTHER’S KEEPER
Delivering books to the housebound residents of the Thumb Islands, just a short boat ride from the town of Briar Creek, library director Lindsey Norris has befriended two elderly brothers, Stewart and Peter Rosen. She enjoys visiting them in their treasure-filled, ramshackle Victorian on Star Island until she discovers that Peter has been killed and Stewart is missing. Now she’s determined to solve a murder and find Stewart before he suffers his brother’s fate.
I enjoyed this latest installment in the lives of Lindsey Norris and her friends. This is a character-driven light drama that pulls you in caring for everything that happens in their lives and in Briar Creek. The author does a very great job in keeping the mystery in the story alive by giving us enough clues to follow along yet keep me guessing and I’m especially happy when all is said and done that my guess is correct, which BTW, does not negate the telling of this story. The tone is very comfortable and I like the small town atmosphere. With engaging dialogue and a lovable cast, this was another great read in this terrific series. I do hope the love triangle is coming to a close soon.
I just finished reading this yesterday and enjoyed it…but I have to agree. It is time for Lindsey to pick between Sully and Robbie!
i’ll look for this series.
I love the title and the book cover. Plus I have read books in this series and enjoyed each one. Now I would love to review this book.
I’m adding this series to my TBR list.
Sounds like a great book!
How many times have we heard a likely story, especially from the kids. But it was nothing like this. Small quiet towns. Nothing much happens. Right? This looks like a great read. Love the setting. On my TBR.
