Asta, the dog from the popular Thin Man series, has vanished, and production for his next film is pending. MGM Studios offers a huge reward, and that’s exactly what young private detectives Babs Norman and Guy Brandt need for their struggling business to survive. Celebrity dognapping now a growing trend, when the police and city pound ridicule Basil Rathbone and ask, “Sherlock Holmes has lost his dog?” Basil also hires the B. Norman Agency to find his missing Cocker Spaniel.

Dru’s Short Musing:
Bringing back the golden era of Hollywood is what you’ll find in this entertaining new series.

I enjoyed this drama with its comfortable tone making it easy to follow along with what the author has intended. The writing was crisp with visually descriptive narrative and engaging dialogue.  Someone has absconded with Basil Rathbone’s dog and when they find out that Asta, from the famous Thin Man movies is also missing, Babs and Guy are on the hunt in this delightful tale among the Hollywood elite. We encounter many celebrities who play a key role in this lighthearted whodunit. With plenty of suspects, it will be the one wagging their tail the most that is behind the kidnapping. This was a fun book to read, and I look forward to reading more in this pleasantly appealing new series.
