My name is Tj Jensen. I am a high school coach, physical education teacher, and show choir advisor, who was born and raised in the small mountain town of Serenity Nevada. I live at Maggie’s Hideaway, the lakeside resort that has been owned by my family for three generations, with my dad Mike Jenkins, my Grandpa Ben, and my two half-sisters Ashley and Gracie. Besides my human family, I also share my life with my Bernese Mountain Dog Echo, my huge orange tabby Cuervo, and the three family cats Crissy, Midnight, and Snowy.
When I am not teaching or coaching, I am busy being a surrogate mom to my sisters, volunteering in the community, helping at the resort, and more frequently than I would like; solving murders. The community I live in plays host to a plethora of holiday celebrations and special events which I usually end up involved in in one way or another.
Today my good friend Kyle, my sisters, and I, are having lunch at The Antiquery, the antique store/restaurant that my best friend Jenna owns. I find that I am cherishing these few happy moments before Kyle takes my sisters to a movie so that I can investigate the brutal murder that has left the entire community in deep mourning. While any murder is difficult to accept, this murder is particularly hard as the victim was well liked and respected by everyone in town. Or so I thought.
If there is one thing I have learned while investigating this murder, it is that truth is a fickle thing. Since the day I discovered the body I’ve struggled with the discrepancy between what I thought I knew, and the reality of everything that I never suspected. A good man has died and I know in my heart that I will not quit until I find his killer, yet as I dig into the motives of people I have known my entire life, I can’t help but wonder if the truth will be harder to bear than the uncertainty of not knowing.

About the author
Kathi Daley lives with her husband, kids, grandkids, and Bernese mountain dogs in beautiful Lake Tahoe. When she isn’t writing, she likes to read (preferably at the beach or by the fire), cook (preferably something with chocolate or cheese), and garden (planting and planning, not weeding). She also enjoys spending time on the water when she’s not hiking, biking, or snowshoeing the miles of desolate trails surrounding her home.
Kathi uses the mountain setting in which she lives, along with the animals (wild and domestic) that share her home, as inspiration for her cozy mysteries.
