Hello, I’m Violet Greer. I live in Crystal Haven, Michigan and I’m a pet psychic. My niece, Clytemnestra (Clyde), asked me to write a little something for Dru’s blog – and I thank Dru for hosting us. Clyde claims that not many people have heard of our little town, but I find that hard to believe based on how they flock to our streets every summer. We are on the west coast of Michigan and have a beautiful Lake Michigan beach, lots of forest trails, and more psychics than there are Starbucks at an airport.
Clyde recently moved back home after living in Ann Arbor and working as a police officer, which really didn’t suit her. I warned her that would be the case, but she doesn’t tend to listen to me and I don’t like to interfere. Anyway, she’s back home and Rose (her mother) and I are thrilled. Clyde is one of the most gifted psychics I’ve ever known. She takes after my own mother. Not that she does much with her talent – another thing I try to keep quiet about. Her father, Frank, seems pretty thrilled as well, although he really liked the idea of having a cop in the family.
Seth (my great-nephew) is visiting so it was shaping up to be a fantastic summer. I set Seth and Clyde up with some dog clients – they walked and played with them daily – and then the most horrible thing happened. They found a dead body while on their dog rounds. I can’t believe I didn’t see it coming. Usually I’m very good at predicting disasters, but this one just slipped past the radar. The situation went downhill fast and we all had to chip in to figure out what had happened. Add sneaky spycraft to my many talents!
In my opinion, we could have resolved this sooner if Clyde had used her abilities, but again, I really am reluctant to meddle. Also, she was thrown by the reappearance of Mac McKenzie and we lost some time while they made googly eyes at each other. They really should get back together, but nobody asked me. Far be it from me to offer unsolicited advice. Even if I should. Because I know I am right. When I’m right, I’m right.
Apparently, Clyde has written out the whole sordid tale. I haven’t read it yet because she’s been very secretive, but I’m sure it will be good for business when people hear about all the great things to do in Crystal Haven – as long as they don’t get hung up on the murder thing.

I’ve been friends with an Eastman family in the UK since 1974. They once lived in a 100-year-old house I visited. The daughter got married in a castle. Two sons are very much in the military. I’m from Toledo and moved to California over 50 years ago. It wasn’t until 1976 that I went through a part of Michigan en route to Toronto. All the best with the book and I hope to become more acquainted with your Michigan. Thanks for the giveaway. Lovely cover. judydee22002@yahoo dot com
