Wally Boyd first appeared in Murder of a Small-Town Honey and one of the best ways to learn about a person is by asking questions, so let’s get to know Wally.

What is your name?
Walter Boyd, but everyone calls me Wally.

How old are you?
44

What is your profession?
Chief of the Scumble River Police Department.

Do you have a significant other?
I certainly do. My darlin’ wife Skye. We’re celebrating our first anniversary the end of December.

Skye Denison Boyd. She is a school psychologist.

My mother has passed, but my father Carson splits his time between Texas and Scumble River.

Who is your best friend?
My wife. [Editor’s Note: aaawww]

Cats, dogs or other pets?
A black cat named Bingo. He was Skye’s grandmother’s cat, but Skye adopted him when her grandmother died.

House or building complex? Own or Rent?
Due to the tornado that destroyed our house, we are currently camped out in an RV, but our contractor has promised we will be in the new house that we’re building before Christmas.

What is your favorite spot in your house?
I’m pretty sure it’s going to be the master bedroom. 😉 It’s been a while since we’ve had any privacy since currently the twins’ cribs are in with us. The RV is spacious, but still only one bedroom.

Favorite vacation spot?
We went on a cruise for our honeymoon and I really enjoyed being completely off grid.

Favorite sports team?
I don’t watch a lot of sports and if I do it’s our high school teams.

Movies or Broadway?
Movies because you wouldn’t catch me in NYC for love nor money.

Are you a morning or a night person?
Morning.

Amateur sleuth or professional?
Professional.

Whom do you work with when sleuthing?
My wife.

In a few sentences, what is a typical day in your life like?
Skye and I get up and take care of the twins. On my way into the PD, I usually stop at Tales and Treats, our local bookstore/bakery combo for coffee and a pastry. Once I’m at work, I go over the reports from the afternoon and midnight shifts and deal with anything that needs my attention. For the rest of the day I patrol and respond to any calls. I try to be home by five and after Skye and I take care of the twins we have supper and enjoy each other’s company. We’re usually go to bed right after the ten o’clock news.
