Now it’s time to learn more about the authors we read. . .

Why do you write the genre that you write?
Writing a mystery is like solving a puzzle. It’s fun to make all the pieces fit together and best of all, justice wins out in the end.

What’s the quirkiest quirk one of your characters has?
Lola. in the Talk Radio Mysteries, is convinced she can pass for 38 even though she’s fifty-something. As she says, “Bring on the Spanx!”

Tell us how you got into writing?
I started out as a radio copywriter at a Nashville radio station and moved into a job writing television news for the ABC affiliate.

What jobs have you held before, during and/or after you became a writer?
For several years, I was a clinical psychologist in private practice and director of public relations at a travel company. One of my bosses said I was “The most versatile person he’d ever met, or showed a complete lack of direction in my life.”
